Working with the Royal Academy of Arts
Quintessentially English and yet totally international, the Royal Academy has marked out its place on the cultural map.
Beguiling, a little eccentric maybe, it conjures for some an image of pearl and cashmere clad ladies from immaculate homes on a nice day out in town. Others know that it wields power and influence to attract and create landmark exhibitions that become the reference point for practitioners and scholars alike.
Tuned in
And curiously, more than 200 years since it opened, it is perhaps more in tune with the times now than ever before. It is independent, knows what it’s good at, and proudly asserts itself without apology. It is run by creative practitioners and provides the only 3 year postgraduate fine art degree in the UK. It is democratic and connected to a network of 90,000 friends and has corporate lure of the highest order.
Turned on
We like it’s maverick ways and love what it represents. And though we’ve been working together for several years now, have a distinct sense that the best is yet to come.
